Grandma and Grandpa Kraston opened their first general store in the early 1920's. Among the goods they sold were Grandma's homemade natural jellies, jams and fruit butters. Their customers loved Grandma's tasty sweet treats.
Even as the years passed and Grandma got older, she continued to can her recipes for the store, church fairs and to share with family and friends on special occasions.
As children, we loved them and always wanted to visit Grandma when she was cookin' jams.
Years later, after Grandma and Grandpa were gone, we found her recipes in an old hat box in her dusty attic.
As two teachers, we decided to start making and selling some of her recipes at a local flea market during the summer. Once again, as with Grandma, our customers fell in love with our versions of Grandma's sweet
Soon after that, we began selling in a few stores, but we found it harder and harder to keep up with the demand.
Instead of turning to a canning company, our desire to keep our products hand made in small batches led us on a search for like-minded artisans who could help us make our products.
With more artisans helping, and new ones added over the years, we have been able to add more products. Today, we sell our products in over a dozen stores, farm markets and tourist attractions and private label our products for over another dozen establishments.
It's been almost 100 years since Grandma sold that first jar in her store. Today, her sweet jellies, jams and fruit butters live on, along with many other goodies, all because we found her recipes in that dusty attic over two decades ago and decided to give them a try.
A lot of hard work goes into coordinating, producing and bringing superior quality products to our customers. We pride ourselves in bringing you good homemade country goodness with old fashioned customer service. We hope you try our products and see for yourself how good they really are.
Grandma would have liked that!
As of August 15th, MoonShadows Farm is a wholesale ONLY business. We are no longer taking retail internet or phone orders. You can still purchase our products at our local retailers.
